Global Advisory Board

The Value Base Global Advisory Board consist of three world-class experts in the fields of economics, finance international relations and technology.

The members of the Board contribute their extensive knowledge and experience of economic, political and technological developments and their impact on the financial markets. Furthermore, the Board members advises Value Base top management in building and shaping the long term strategy of the firm.

Prof. Jacob A. Frenkel, CHAIRMAN

Prof. Jacob A. Frenkel is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Group of Thirty (G-30) and Chairman of the Board of Governors of Tel Aviv University.  Previously served as Chairman of JPMorgan Chase International (2009-2020), Chairman and CEO of the G30 (2000-2011), Vice Chairman of American International Group (2004-2009) and Chairman of Merrill Lynch International (2000-2004). He served two terms as Governor of the Bank of Israel (1991-2000) and is credited with reducing inflation and achieving price stability, liberalizing Israel’s financial markets, removing foreign exchange controls, and integrating the Israeli economy into the global financial system.

Previously he was the Economic Counselor and Director of Research at the International Monetary Fund (1987-1991); Editor of the Journal of Political Economy, and the David Rockefeller Professor of International Economics at the University of Chicago (1973-1987).

Prof. Frenkel is a Laureate of the 2002 Israel Prize in Economics, a Fellow of the Econometric Society, life-time Fellow of the International Economic Association, a Foreign Honorary Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a recipient of numerous prizes, Honorary Doctoral degrees and awards from various Universities and Governments.  He is a member of the Board of the National Bureau of Economic Research, of the Japan Society, of the Peterson Institute for International Economics, and is a Global Member of the Trilateral Commission. He is a member of the Boards of the Aspen Institute Italia and The Council for the US and Italy, a member emeritus of Temasek International Panel (TIP), a Senior Advisor of Temasek International Advisors, a member of the G20 Eminent Persons Group on Global Financial Governance, and a member of the International Advisory Council of China Development Bank. He was Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank (1995-1996), Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (1999-2000), and a member of the Economic Advisory Panel of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (1986-2014).

He holds a B.A. in economics and political science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago.

Ido Aharoni

Mr. Ido Aharoni serves as a global distinguished professor at New York University’s Program of International Relations in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Mr. Aharoni is a 25-year veteran of Israel’s Foreign Service, a public diplomacy specialist, founder of the Brand Israel program, and a well-known nation branding practitioner.

Mr. Aharoni served as Israel’s longest serving Consul-General in New York and the tri-state area to date. He held that position with the rank of Ambassador for six years (2010-2016) overseeing the operations of Israel’s largest diplomatic mission worldwide.

Mr. Aharoni is a member of the International Advisory Council (IAC) of global strategic communications firm DC-based APCO Worldwide, Co-Founder and Principal at Israel based consultancy Emerson Rigby Ltd and Co-Founder and Principal at Israel-based investment company EA2K Ltd. Mr. Aharoni also serves as Chairman of the Charney Forum for New Diplomacy, Global Ambassador for Maccabi World Union and Global Ambassador for the Genius 100 Visions curated community.

In 2013 and 2019 he was named among the “100 most influential people in the Jewish world” by Algemeiner magazine.

He holds a B.A. in Arts (magna cum laude) from the Tel Aviv University and a M.A in Mass Communications from Emerson College in Boston

Dr. Giora Yaron

Dr. Yaron is a tech and med-tech investor and entrepreneur and is known as one of the founding fathers of Israel’s high-tech industry.

During his rich career in the field of technologies Dr. Yaron initiated and led a number of landmark acquisitions of Israeli Tech companies by some of the global tech leaders, in addition to listing of numerous Israeli companies on the Nasdaq.  Dr. Yaron serves as the chairman of Itamar Medical (ITMR US) which he founded back in 1997 and also serves on the board of Israeli public tech company Amdocs (DOX US)

Dr. Yaron is an active Founding Investor and Founder of a group of high-tech and med-tech companies including; P-cube (acquired by Cisco), PentaCom (acquired by Cisco), Qumranet (acquired by Redhat), Comsys (acquired by Conexant, Texas Instruments), Exanet (acquired by Dell) Hyperwise Security (acquired by Checkpoint), Qwilt, Itamar Medical, Excelero, Equalum, Aqua Security , Vulcan Security, CyberPion, Affogato and Apolicy.

Dr. Yaron also served as Chairman of the Board of Mercury Interactive (acquired by HP). From 1992-1995 Dr. Yaron has served as President of Indigo NV, leading the company to an NASDAQ IPO. Prior to joining Indigo he served as corporate Vice President of National Semiconductor [NSC] and was the Founder of NSC wafer fab in Israel (today Tower-Jazz Semiconductors). In 2008 Dr Yaron presented at the Computer History Museum the revolutionary microprocessor development work he headed at NSC which provides the foundation for the microprocessors as we know it today. In 2019 Dr Yaron was awarded the Global Industry Leader award for leading the development of the revolutionary microprocessor at National Semiconductor Inc.

Dr. Yaron has published numerous scientific papers and holds numerous official patents. Dr. Yaron holds a B.Sc. in Physics and Mathematics and a PhD in applied physics from the Hebrew University.
